Biographies
Benja Barker
Director, Writer, additional production crew, “Dr. Megahertz”, movie extras
Benja is a Portland artist whose works include graphic design, writing, acting and filmmaking as well as costume fabrication with plastics. His interest in superheroes first appeared at the age of six when he accidentally punched his hand through a pane of a glass while imitating Superman flying. Benja eventually found himself in Alaska, performing daily in a vaudeville-style melodrama as part of a reenactment gold rush camp, also working as a director and script writer. Returning to Portland in 2007, he founded the Alter Egos Society. This led him to perform superhero street theater under the pretext of “promotion.” In the past few years he has appeared in various parts of the city dressed as a robot, a late 19th century gentleman, the moon wearing a derby hat, a spaceman, a zombie, and five different original superheroes. Deeming world conquest to be too competitive a field, he enjoys playing Ms. Pac Man and planning for future creative endeavors that may or may not involve wearing tights.
Brandon Custy
Yorick the Magnificent
Brandon is a student at Evergreen State College, where he studies Experimental Theater. In this capacity he has written, acted, and directed as a part of several productions since the Fall of ’07. Brandon is currently directing his first full-length play, ‘Ubu Roi’, the French Absurdist masterpiece at Evergreen State’s Expreimental Theater. Brandon lives in Olympia, WA.
Ruby Larisch
Sky Ray
Ruby Larisch is a hot chick (and model) who has been in a few high school plays (mostly playing men and old ladies) and appears in the film ‘The Auteur’ for about a second and a half. She likes Superman best because her grandmother had a bunch of rotting old Superman comics from the 60s in a drawer, and also because Ruby is vulnerable to rocks.
Carmina (Hong Zhe) Lu
Pandora
Carmina was born in Wuhan, China (1986). She went to school in Portland, OR. at Reed College and currently resides in Beijing, working for the Austrailian Embassy. Many have observed that she is a rather curious girl, very serious, and totally humorless. It is rumored that she is just a figment of imagination and was never here at
Oliver Mains
Alloy
Oliver is a native of the SF Bay Area, and a Studio Art major at Reed College in Portland, OR. A devout practitioner of Method acting, Oliver prepared for the role of Alloy through close examination of Super Metroid and MegaMan X for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Archives of the Fantastic will be his first appearance in film.
Daniel Miller
Director
Daniel has been a lover of movies since the age of five, when he first saw The Empire Strikes Back. He soon created his own super-8 Star Wars inspired adventure, starring a cast of Cabbage Patch Kids, entitled Baby Battles. With his first film in the can, he eventually moved to Portland to check out the NW Film Center, find employment in a slew of low-end video production jobs, and continue to geek-out over all things cinema. Daniel currently works as a freelance sculptor and model fabricator, creating props and characters for television commercials, museums, and other odd ball markets. His mild alcohol allergy keeps him sober, but he still enjoys a good cup of coffee.
Melissa Murray
The Archivist
Melissa was born and raised in Memphis, TN. She went on to receive her BA in Theatre Performance from Marymount Manhattan College in NYC. She then wandered the country for two years with various tour companies, finding Portland and moving there. In Portland she has performed with a number of theaters. She most recently performed with tEEth, an experimental avant-garde dance company, here in Portland and touring to Seattle, NYC, and Austin. Her greatest aspiration is to play Smurfette in Smurfs! the musical on Broadway.
Ed Stiner
The Sorcerer
Ed came to acting recently. When his son decided to be an actor Ed joined him. He has had background/bit parts in several films that include: Twilight, Without a Paddle 2, Vocalize, Special, Not Dead Yet, and Welcome to My Scene. He has been reading superhero comic books for about 50 years, giving him a very high nerd rating.
